I just installed Office 2003 and now find I cant read all
my old ppts done in ppt 2000 because:
"this presentation cannot be edited (or displayed so it
seems) because it contains read-only embedded fonts.

The MS site recommends to re-save in the original ppt
2000 without embeedded fonts but this is impractical.

What do I do - return the product??

First off, PLEASE report the problem to Microsoft. This is a really nasty
"feature" <choke> of PPT 2003 - MS needs to know exactly what you think of it -
calmly but firmly explain exactly what it's likely to cost you to fix the
problem if you do decide to continue using PPT2003.

Contact Microsoft: Request features, report problems, etc.

Do you have 2000 still? If it were possible to do some kind of batch
open/resave, would it help? Mention that when you contact MS and let us know
here as well.
