PPT XP: Tabs are not working

This is driving me absolutely insane!

I'm working on a presentation, and it's as if all of a sudden, PPT has
decided to ignore the set tabs. Bullets aren't indenting or hanging.
Second (and third and fourth, etc.) lines aren't moving in.

This is happening both in text boxes and with text entered into
shapes.

Does anyone have any idea on what the h-e-double-hockey-sticks is
going on here? I've never seen anything like this before and I swear
to (insert chosen deity here) I'm ready to put my foot through my
monitor!

Thanks,
Cheryl

As for bullets not indenting... have you checked the master slide to see
what formatting is set to the text boxes?

Yes. All of the hanging indents are properly set on the masters, and
they're properly set in the offending text boxes as well -- the text
just isn't following them. It's insane and I don't know how to fix it.
It isn't happening 100% of the time, either, which makes it even more
frustrating.

You might want to do a search on your system for a PPT10.pcb file. Usually
stored in C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\PowerPoint\PPT10.pcb. Rename it
to something .old, start PowerPoint. This will generate a new .pcb file, and see
if the problem still exists.
