Hi
I am trying to "pack and go" a presentation for use on multiple computers without PowerPoint. I am using PP 2000 with Windows XP Pro

The presentation has three avi videos and three mpeg videos in it. Also has narration embedded into each slide

I installed the PP 2003 viewer from the microsoft site. When I try to unpackage the presentation in the 2003 viewer ona computer without PP, the videos all stay on the first frame (like a still shot). No sound is heard on any slide. Everything else progresses normally

The presentaion works flawlessly on my machine with powerpoint installed.
Any suggestions

Thanks
Clark

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

This is a limitation of the PowerPoint Viewer 2003 when using it to view
presentation authored in PowerPoint 2000 and earlier. It will not
automatically play media files which have been inserted using the Insert ->
Sounds and Movies commands.

If you have to use PowerPoint Viewer 2003, here are a few of the
workarounds:
A) Open and resave the presentation in PowerPoint 2002 or PowerPoint 2003,
OR...
B) Insert the media files as OLE objects (Insert -> Object -> Media Clip)
instead, OR...
C) Click on the movie objects during slide show to play them (instead of
playing them automatically), OR...
D) Use PowerPoint Viewer 97 instead (since PowerPoint 2000 doesn't have any
of the advanced animation features of PowerPoint 2002/2003 which require
the use of PowerPoint Viewer 2003).
