Hello,

Using the PowerPoint 2003 "Package for CD" option, all the files are
together.

Is it possible to create a CD which will use the PPT Viewer such that
the ppt files remain in the folder structure in which they are stored
on my hard disk?

Cheers

Geoff

If you want to be sure the linked items will work, it's best to leave them
all in one folder together.

Echo,

If 1 link works OK can I assume that the rest will?!

If not, why not?

Far too general a question for a yes/no answer, I'm afraid.

There are roughly, at last count, though while I'm writing this several more
may have been added, eleventy-hundred-something subtly different types of links
in PowerPoint and as you've already suggested, some of yours may point to files
in the folder with PPT, some not.

Links to images are almost guaranteed to break.

Links to OLE content (spreadsheets and such) generally work so long as you put
a copy of the linked file in the same folder as the PPT itself.

Links to media files (sounds, movies) work if you put the file in the same
folder as the ppt first, then link, then keep the PPT and Media files in the
same folder thenceforth. AND make sure the path to the media file isn't too
long. And some other odds and ends.

So we can give you a definitive "Yes. Unless it's no. Maybe." answer on that
one, Geoff. ;-)
