ppt slides with sound won't play on some PCs

Hi all,

I'm trying to help a faculty member who created a ppt presentation on
a Mac and saved it as a web page.

The problem we have is that on some PC's, any slide that contains a
link to a sound file will not load in IE6. It gives the loading
indicator at the bottom of the browser window like it's trying to load
the page, but it just keeps going and going without ever finishing.

When you view the page source, all the code is there.

It does this on only 2 of the 5 PC's I've tested it on. For example,
it works on my PC at home, but not my PC here at work. And they both
have the same browser, version of ppt, media players, etc.

All the files are there on the server. It also does this locally, so
it's not a problem of missing files.

When I loaded the presentation into Powerpoint and saved it as a web
page, it worked fine on my computer. I have the full version of
Powerpoint 2002 with all service packs installed.

I checked the MS knowledgebase and tried all the things suggested
there. No go. Mplayer32.exe can play all the sound files, so they
aren't corrupted and I do have all the correct codecs installed.

Here's a link to the ppt presentation:

Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Lance

Like the > icon on the first page?

It's evidently an ActiveX control of some sort. I've got my browser set to
ask before letting any of these fire off. Most folks seem to allow them w/o
question, but in a locked down environment, they might be forbidden, don't
ask, don't run.

I'd compare browser security prefs on PCs where it does and doesn't work.
