good morning. I have a little quirk that just began with opening
PowerPoint. I have a shortcut on my taskbar, that when I try to open
PowerPoint, it runs, and says PowerPoint not responding. So...I tried to
get in by going to the start menu then PowerPoint. Get the same message.
If I go to MyDocs and open an already created ppt. it opens with no
problem. I guess what I am asking is:
does anyone know how to fix this without having to re-install PowerPoint? I
have Crystal Graphics installed with it, is why I am hoping to bypass a
complete new re-install. any ideas?
thanks in advance for any advice...

Press Ctrl + Alt + Del. Do you see PowerPoint in the list of tasks? You
may need to do an "End Task" to kill it if it isn't responding.

Well, we need to figure out why it is not responding. Are you saying that
once you have it closed, using Task Manager, that when you open PowerPoint
it is once again not responding?

Have you just recently installed Crystal Graphics and is that when the
problem began? Have you tried uninstalling it?

no, I have had this program for a year or so. I haven't tried to uninstall
because there in no uninstall. I suppose I could just delete, but I am
insecure in how to properly do this. I was hoping someone had a similar
problem that was solved without having to uninstall.

Are you sure? Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add Remove Programs
and see if you can find anything listed. Otherwise consult their website
for information on how to cleanly uninstall. Without being able to do that,
it's going to be hard to pin down the problem.

I can't get PowerPoint open to do this

Dee,
Check the Addins menu in PowerPoint. You should be able to uninstall the
addins by selecting them from the list.
