ppt files icon

Hi. I don´t know what I just did except that I removed microsoft works (since
I never used it) then suddenly all my ppt files appear with icon that is not
ppt. in fact they all changed to an unknown icon. thankfully i can still open
it. however when i open ppt files sent to me by mail the only way i can open
it is by downloading it or selecting "open with ppt application". before i
can open ppt file sent by mail by just double clicking on it.
i reinstalled microsoft works again but it did not help. can anyone please
help me with this. thanks a lot!!!

Start PowerPoint, choose Help, Detect and Repair.
With luck, that'll help.
