ppt file opening

We have got microsoft powerpoint presentation file generated in 2000
version.Not been able to open the same in 2003 version.please advise
immediately waht is to be done.Help says that this may not be appt file.

Update PowerPoint 2003 to the latest service pack. To do so, click Help >
Check for Updates. Try opening the file again after you are done with the
update.
