Probably you're receiving a PPTX (2007-format) file. You can download the compatibility pack here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...70-3AE9-4AEE-8F43-C6BB74CD1466&displaylang=en This lets PPT 2002 and 2003 open 2007-format files. Note that you need to install all High-Priority Windows updates also in order for this pack to work.
