Hi -
Running PPT2002 on W2K
I regularly build simple presentations of 50-60 slides. It all works fine,
but I have one minor irritation.
Most of the slides are inserted .ppt files.
I always insert files from the same location, but - unlike in other Windows
apps - PPT does not remember the location, so I have to click through six
levels to get to the correct folder.
Anyone know a way to make PPT remember?

TIA,
Mike

Most of the slides are inserted .ppt files.

Do you mean that they're slides inserted from other files (ie, Insert,
Slides, From File)?
Could you use the Add to Favorites button in that dialog to help you get
there quicker?

[CRITICAL UPDATE - If you are using Office 2003, you should install this
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello Mike,

PowerPoint assumes that, when you use the "Insert -> Slides from File"
command that you will be inserting slides from presentations that you've
saved so we use the default file save location in PowerPoint. You can
change this location in the "Save" tab of the "Tools -> Options" dialog.
This one setting will control both the default save location and the
default location when inserting slides from files.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that PowerPoint should
provide more control over various default behaviors, settings, etc.
(without have to resort to VBA or 3rd party add-ins), don't forget to send
