Dan, Articulate does more than just convert PowerPoint to Flash - it does
conversion to Flash based Online Rich Media (ORM).
I use Articulate all the time and it is a fabulous product - but it is for
Flash based ORM rather than a single Flash SWF output. Articulate 4 does
have a new option that allows you to export to an interface that shows full
screen slides rather than the entire ORM area - maybe you want to explore
that.
Beyond Articulate, I have seen several PowerPoint to Flash products and most
of them either do not do the conversion very well, or cost something that is
enterprise level.
If you can live with that, PresentationPro's PowerCONVERTER does create
single file SWFs from PowerPoint content.
Another product that I have used is IceSLIDE - and it does create very small
SWF file sizes from PowerPoint.
About Camtasia, the SWF output is again going to be on the higher side since
Camtasia typically converts video capture to Flash rather than using a
vector route. Camtasia does a better job with Windows Media and Real Media
since the output formats are video based.
If you don't mind Java conversion, Impatica does a great job.

Any one of the the files (rm, windows media, or swf) will
work. I d'l a trial of Articulate and it does do a great
job, but is converts to many files and they are fairly
large. Also I had to chop the audio to fit each frame. I
may end up using Flash to make the file. I could take PPT
and convert slides to Gids or Jpeg and use them in Flash.
If someone has other thoughts, please let me know.
Thanks for the help,
Dan Ayo

Sure. But Dan said
I want to convert the file to SWF, RM, or Windows Media to
stream across the web.
So I got the impression that any of those formats would work for him. In
that case, I recommend Articulate, as it's the easiest and best quality
conversion.

Echo, Articulate will not convert to Windows Media and Real Media.
It does an amazing Flash conversion.

I would like to take a lecture and import this .wav file
and sync it with images in a PPT presentation. After this
I want to convert the file to SWF, RM, or Windows Media to
stream across the web.
What addittional software will I need?
Thank You
