I do not have the PACKAGE command in my file set. What's a guy to do or am I
missing something obvious.

HELP!

If should be the ninth item listed on the File menu. Do you not see it there?
"Package for CD..."
 
Another thought. Did you do a custom install? You can go to Start > Control
Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Select Microsoft Office 2003 and click on the
"Change" button. Select Add or Remove Features from the menu that appears,
click Next, check the box that says "Choose advanced customization of
applications and then click Update. Under PowerPoint, make sure that Package
for CD is set to run from your computer.

Pop in the CD and re-run Setup. Choose a custom install then go through the
PPT options looking for Package for CD. Put a check next to it, don't remove
checks from anything else (unless you want to uninstall them) and let the
installer rock 'n roll. That ought to do it.
