Can anyone tell me, is it possible to have PowerPoint 2000 and PowerPoint 2002 on the
same Windows XP Pro computer?

Is it as simple as installing them in two different directories? Or is there anything
else I need to do?

This should help. http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00472.htm

Yes, it is.

Yes, it is. I'd install 2000 first, but that's not absolutely mandatory. If
you install 2000 after 2002, you can run Help | Detect and Repair in 2002 to
correct things and make it seem like it was installed last.

Ooooh, I didn't realize we had that FAQ. I should have known!

It sure does do a good job at scaring the bejeebers outta me. I guess I've
been lucky with multiple versions installed on my systems. Then again, I'm
not usually doing mission-critical testing or development or anything....

I have a hard enough time with just one version thank you very much ;-o))
