i am starting my first webpage and want to add a *.pps file with sound on a
linked page. can this be done using frontpage or publisher or by converting
*.ppt/*.pps to html? should it be converted to another format altogether?
I am using MSOffice 2003.
thanks for any assistance you can give.

File | Save As...?

Well, there are about a million ways to put PPT files on the web -- problem
is, none of them is perfect. :-)

You can File|Save As and save your presentation as HTML pages. Then you'd
link from your web page to the presentation page. (Can't remember which one
it is now, but if you go this route, I can look it up or someone here is
bound to know off the top of his/her head. Oh, and don't use PPT to create
the entire site. You'll be sorry if you do!) If you have animations, most
should be okay in IE, but you can include a link to the Office Animation
Runtime if you want.

If you have sound -- like a background sound track -- that can be tricky.

You can save the PPS file and zip it with Windows XP or WinZip or similar
utilities. Your users would download and unpack the file and view it on PPT
or the free PPT Viewer. You'll probably want to include a link to the free
PPT Viewer if you go this route.

You can convert the file to an EXE. Your users would download and
double-click it.
