I need to send some of my work as a PPS. I want that this PPS should
automatically stop working after a certain time period. How can I get this
done

This can not be done with any assurance from within PowerPoint. You could
use VBA (via forced code advancement) but then the presentation will not
play in the viewer and on systems where VBA won't run.

You might be better off converting the PPS file to an EXE. Look here for
details on how this can be done.

This program has many excellent and useful features, the 'kill after ...'
aspects are just one.
