pps in vista/ie7

when launching a pps in vista/ie7 it opens the powerpoint application vs.
playing it as a slide show. File association for pps is IE. Does anyone
know if this is a bu...I mean undocumented feature?

powerpoint.show.8 (in our case) dword = 0 took care of it!
