PPS files opening sound only, no slides

PPS files that used to run perfectly are now opening with sound only
and the slides are NOT showing. I have Powerpoint 2003 and
have downloaded Microsoft PP Viewer 2007 which not only
does not work any better or different it does not show up on
the "Open with" list.
Any suggestions, I've Googled it to death with out even a close guess.

If so, open the presentation in PPT normally, go to Slide Show Setup and
set the show to play on the primary monitor (it's probably set to
secondary).
