I have been able to do this at work, but am unable to do
this at home. I have Powerpoint 2003 installed and have
been trying to make my presentation run as shows when
opened.

When I save as a .pps file, it still opens as the full
powerpoint program.

Help?

It sounds as though the file associations have become corrupt. There are
directions to fix this at:
**Changing a File Association
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00355.htm

Post back if we can be of further help.

Bill,

Thank you for your quick answer. I have been trying the
suggestions on the site you gave, but nothing is
working. Would I need to uninstall and reinstall the
program?

No, uninstalling and reinstalling may fix it, but would be more trouble than
its worth.

What program/action is your PPS file extension associated with? The line
should read something like:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office xp\Office10\POWERPNT.EXE" /s "%1"

Watch for possible textwrap in the newsgroup. Does yours match this?

No, mine does not match...

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\POWERPNT.EXE"

I am running windows xp on my computer.

Just add the:

/s "%1"

after the last quote (remember there is a space before the slash)

It does run as a show now, but it still is running with
part of the main powerpoint editing screen showing.

Almost there!
