*.pps extension files do not open on Windows mail

Since I startet using Windows mail from windows Vista, all files with
extension *.pps (powerpoint Presentation) do not open. It says the files
does not have an association with a current working program. It tells me to
associate the file on the set associations on the control panel. But when I
open that screen and I browse to look for pps extension files, no pps file
is found there. What should I do? Thank you
