This is a follow up to several threads
I can create a pps, without the black exit screen at the end & it works on
my pc.
When I publish a link on the web the black page mysteriously reappears
What am I missing
I want to click & close the pps at the end of the presentation, not start
again

That "don't end with black screen" setting applies to powerpoint on your PC,
not to any specific presentation.

What happens on another PC depends on that PC's settings.

This happens when I preview the web page from my pc. Do you mean that the
host server's settings can effect the pps. Still the question is why does
the black exit screen appear when I askd Powerpoint not to

No, I mean that the settings are on each *viewer's* PC. But since it happens on
your PC no matter how you view it, you're right:

Let's get more specific then. As I understand it, you've published your PPS to
the web and created a page that links to it. You click the link to view the
presentation and it ends with a black slide.

Is that correct? What version of PPT are you using?

And can you post a link to the PPS file here?

Steve
Your presumtions are correct
When I look at the pps normally it is OK; as soon as I create a link via web
page the black screen appears. We use Powerpoint 2003
The page is on our intranet site - so can't give you access
