ppc 2003 square emulator problem

Hi,
I am trying to port my existing ppc 2003 device application to windows
mobile 2003 second edition devices supporting square screens.

However the emulator that I am trying to use in vs.net 2005 beta 2 -
"Pocket PC 2003 SE VGA emulator" with form factor as "Pocket PC 2003 square"
- has distorted UI.

It shows extremely big fonts and text which can't even fit into the device
screen of the emulator. I can't even reach the "start menu" button of
windows!

Am I using a wrong emulator or there is a problem in this particular
emulator. I have installed the emulator using the following -
"WINDOWS MOBILE 2003 SECOND EDITION EMULATOR IMAGES FOR POCKET PC - WWE.MSI"
released by microsoft.

Could you please guide me on this one.

Generally speaking, you don't want to touch the "form factor" setting. We
have a seperate emulators for each form factor. The one you're looking for
is "Pocket PC 2003 SE Square VGA"

Also note that these all come in the box with VS2005 - the seperate install
of 2003 SE emulators is only needed for VS2003

I have been asked by the client to port the existing ppc 2003 application to
ppc 2003 second edition, and subsequently windows mobile 5 edition.

To that end, I started modifying the application forms to support both the
landscape mode and the square screens.
However, after I got into the technical details, I found myself in some
dilemma -
What all kinds of windows 2003 SE devices are available/are going to be
available in the market - VGA/QVGA and what all resolutions will be
supported?
According to Microsoft -
Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition supports the following modes, resolutions
and dpi implementations:

Pocket PC:

· Portrait / Landscape QVGA (240x320, 96 dpi)

· Portrait / Landscape VGA (480x640, 192 dpi)

· Square screen (240x240, 96 dpi)

· Square screen VGA (480x480, 192 dpi)


So, should I target all these resolutions and orientations and are emulators
available for all the above?

My previous post was regarding my attempt to test the application on "Pocket
PC 2003 square" form factor, assuming it will be square screen (240x240, 96
dpi).
But that gives me distorted UI. Could you please let me know on this one
too.

the 4 form factors:
· Portrait / Landscape QVGA (240x320, 96 dpi)
· Portrait / Landscape VGA (480x640, 192 dpi)
· Square screen (240x240, 96 dpi)
