PPAs with OfficeXP in multiuser environments

We are having an issue running Powerpoint addins (PPA) in a multiuser environment. In Powerpoint 97, the PPA would be locked when one person opened it, meaning no one else could access the file. This was changed in Office2000 so you could get multiuser access to a PPA. It seems to have changed back again with XP. These is particularly painful for our clients running Terminal Server or Citrix as the same thing occurs there. Is there any configuration changes to OfficeXP, or maybe something set in the PPA, to be able to get around this?

Greg,
Behaviour of the PPA in multi-user environment is not documented enough.
Last heard that on a terminal server each user gets a distinct copy in
his/her space so it should have worked. I know some of my customers use my
add-ins on a terminal server.

Unfortunately some of our customers don't like have a separate copy of the PPA in each profile which is causing issues. We install the PPA in a separate folder from the Office folder as we can't often write to those folders due to security restrictions. This also bites us when we have a copy of the PPA on a network share with multiple users connecting to it
Should I maybe find a way to bring this up with Microsoft directly?
