I am able to copy and paste a pic
but
I am NOT able to Insert Pic using the ribbon in the new 2007.
this is my first use and this really stinks.

I teach at a Univ and I am a Student at another...I have to be able to use
this function.

Can anyone advise?

Can you give us the exact steps you're following to insert a picture? What
happens when you do it?

You might try running diagnostics. Office Button | PPT Options | Resources |
Diagnose.

PP Document is open
INSERT tab selected
in the insert 'ribbon' , in the 'illustrations' grouping, PICTURE (icon)
selected
pop up of
'Favorite Links'
------
'Folders'
appears

I selected the PICTURES folder
I then select my picture to insert

The blue circle that indicates something is happening starts to run..
and run..
and run...
until Picture Insert status bar says 'Not Responding'

Fllowing the advise of one of the other postings (it sounded smart) I went
to Start > All Prog> Microsft Ofc> Tools> Diagnostics I ran the diagnositic
and the diagnosis FOUND 15 MS Ofc INSTALLATION PROBLEMS ....please understand
I am not a techy but I am also NOT NEW to putting in software...

this diagnosis/repair seems to have fixed the PP Insert Picture problem as I
described my typical path above that had previously failed.

This is a New HP dv6445us purchased Aug 1, 2007. Has Vista Home Premium.
I installed full version MS OFc Pro Plus 2007
This new HP came with a corrupt webcam driver (as determined by HP tech via
chat). I have repaired this problem.

Wondering if there are bugs in the MS w/ the Vista or a problem with
HP/Vista/MS or HP in general.

thoughts?
Thanks!

Wow, not sure what caused it, but I'm glad to hear that running the
diagnostics fixed your problem. Thanks for letting us know!
