We play TV (MTV, etc) throughout our bar and I would like to show PP
presentations periodically during the day (say a five minute presentation
every 20 minutes). Is it possible for PP to automatically run a presentation
every 20 mins or so? How would I set up, in an automated way, the
pc/satellite receiver to switch their outputs (i.e how do the TV's know
which signal to use and when)?

Thanks for any help.

Tony,

It's possible to powerpoint to be set to run every 20 minutes, through the use of "scheduler" (which is part of windows)

TVs can automatically switch to the latest 'input' or 'signal' if they are connected by a 'scart' socket. For example
when you play a video cassette, the TV will autoswitch to the "AV1" or similar.

Thanks for the reply.

I understand what your saying but could you confirm that the TV would revert
back to the satalite feed once the presentation had ended?

I can't guarantee it. I guess if the Sat > Scart was re-started....then this would take precedence.

Thanks for the link.

As you say if I physically restart the Sat. it's signal would be picked up
as the new one and it would take precedence but I was hoping to automate the
routine so that neither I nor staff would forget to run it. If the Sat. was
powered via a basic timer (with the PP presentation perminently looping) do
you think that would do the trick?

Thanks for your support.
