Hello
I have created a pp and used powerlink plus from sonia
coleman. I have pp 2002 running windows xp. Aproix 145
slides with jpegs and music as well. The client that
received this cd says that they can either view the
picture or listen to music, unable to view it the way it
was created. On my system everything works that way it
was created, the original is not even on the hd any more.
any suggestions that i could give the clients. I have
tried to assist them in putting to hard drive but they say
that didn't work. All i should need to know from them is
there os right? or is there more so i would know what else
to tell them.

You say they can either "view the picture" or hear the music, but not both?
By "view the picture", do you mean see the slides?

Are they allowing the CD to autorun? If not and they are running the Viewer
off the CD and then opening the presentation, the links to the music
probably won't work, so that could be part of the problem.

Anything else you can find out, please do. Are they running from a PC, or a
Mac? Ask them to install the PowerPoint 2003 Viewer on their system and
then run it and open the presentation to see if it behaves differently.

Yes i should of said they can view the slides but not with
the music. Apparently they are using the autorun. But yes
iam trying to find out all the system info, one computer
apparently has pp but that shouldn't matter correct. They
have tried this on three different systems, but i will get
there info.

Also, your music files may not be compatible with their system, i.e. they
don't have the needed codec(s) installed. What type of music files did you
use and where did you get them?

music is wma that i took off of a cd.

That could be the problem. If they don't have the same version of Windows
Media Player installed, the sounds may not play in PowerPoint. Yes, I know.
They said they could play the sounds. But, did they click on them outside
of PowerPoint to play them? If so, they played in Windows Media Player or
some other player on their system. PowerPoint doesn't use Windows Media
Player.

If you ask them to upgrade to the version of Windows Media Player that you
have installed on your system, chances are that PowerPoint will be able to
play them. That is because some codecs will also be installed on their
system and there's a good chance the one that PowerPoint needs will be among
them.

sounds good i will give this a try thanks
