Hey all,

I have a presentation to do soon using MS PP 2000. They plug a laptop into a
projector to porject the image to a classroom full of students. My question
is, is it possible to just show the presentation on the projected screen,
and on my laptop monitor, have prompt notes etc, maybe even open an MS Word
document with prompts in, without the audience seeing it.

Maybe ask over at this group

If someone knows how to do this, I'm sure interested. I do all my classroom
lectures in PowerPoint and it would be great to be able to see the notes on
the laptop without displaying them on the screen.

Read about dual monitors at the following:

One piece of advice would be to make sure you have some time in advance to
practice with the projector, etc. It's the only way to be sure that your
laptop settings are correct and you know how to control the show. If you
have a regular monitor that you can connect to the laptop, that will
simulate the projector, but it's not a substitute for practicing with the
real life setup.

You can set up your desktop to be spread over 2 monitors -you need 2
graphics cards for this though.
Look in your windows help file under "multiple display support"
