PP 2003 cannot read PP2000 file

Getting an error message stating that "Powerpoint cannot
read file.ppt"
File.ppt was created using PP2000. I'm using PP2003 on PC.
When selecting file.ppt, preview shows slide.
Any Ideas?

There is a fix available to PowerPoint 2003 that I think will fix this.
Open PowerPoint 2003 and go to Help > Office Online > Check for Updates.

It sounds like there's a good chance that you are running into a known
problem which is addressed by installing the critical update for Office
2003. You can locate and install the appropriate critical update by
choosing the "Check for Updates" command from the "Help" menu when you are
connected to the internet.
