PP 2000 "Found error it can't correct" on "save as web page"

I've saved mant PP presentations as web pages, but lately I'm getting the
"found error it can't correct...shut down and try again" message"
No clue what to do next.
Any help here?

PowerPoint may have run into a corrupt shape that it can't handle.

Take a look at the output in the folder it creates ... you should be able to
work out which slide it was working on when it croaked. Try moving that slide
to the end of the presentation to see if the problem follows it.
