Hello everybody

I have the following problem:

I have included two .swf files in a powerpoint presentation. One on
slide 1 and the second one on slide 2. It works nice, when I start the
presentation the first time.

When I watch the whole presentation and go back to first slide, the
..swf file does not go back to the startframe. It is on same position,
where I was when I went to the second slide.

Can somebody tell me, how I manage that the flash file everytime start
on frame1?

Greetings,

Karin

When you link back to a slide that you have previously viewed, PowerPoint
presents the slide as it is after all actions have completed, i.e. the end
of the slide. That is why your SWF file doesn't play.

The work around is to create a blank slide just in front of the slide you
want to return to and give it a timing of 0 seconds. Now, link back to the
blank slide and it will transition so quickly that you won't see it and the
slide that follows will open at the beginning point.

In addition to Sonia's idea, you can add the "flashback" add-in to the
computer running the presentation and it will solve many flash related
problems.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

Although it's possible to use Shockwave Flash controls in PowerPoint, you
may find that PowerPoint does not currently support the level of
integration with Shockwave Flash that you are seeking (and will require
additional use of VBA or add-ins). Also, PowerPoint does not reset
animations and slide timings (including automatically playing inserted
multimedia) on a previously viewed slide when you jump to it from a later
viewed slide. Of course, they are reset when the presentation loops back to
the beginning or you navigate "naturally" to a slide from it's previous
slide. Here is a KB article for PowerPoint 2000 that describes a couple of
workarounds (similar articles exist for other versions of PowerPoint):

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=197701

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it is important to
have improved support for Shockwave Flash in PowerPoint, or that PowerPoint
include a method for choosing whether or not animations on slide(s) replay
when revisted without normal looping (perhaps a slide or presentation
option, or a Action Setting which can be chosen during slide show), without
having to resort to VBA or add-ins, don't forget to send your feedback (in
YOUR OWN WORDS) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
