First of all, let me explain that I know very little about PowerPoint. I
don't ever use it.. period. However, I do have an end user that has at least
100 powerpoint presentations that have converted to .jpg files. First of
all, does anybody know how this could have happened? Second, is there anyway
to fix it? We keep backup tapes for 1 year and yes, this problem goes back
that far and beyond. So the problem is over a year old.

If the user chooses File, Save As and picks JPG as the Save As type in the save
dialog box, PowerPoint will save either the current slide or all slides (user's
choice) as a JPG/series of JPGs.

If the user never saved normally as a presentation or saved to someplace that
wasn't backed up, that might account for it.

Heaven alone knows how they'd manage to do this to 100 presentations w/o having
some deliberate end in mind though.

Thanks so much for your input. Definitely explains how this was done. I'll
have to get with her and explain to her what she did, so she won't do it
again!
