I wish to run a program from within powerpoint, actually it is the same
program several times at various points within the presentation. Essentially,
we show a video and then after the video another program comes up that runs a
quiz on the video. We do several videos each followed with a quiz. What is
happening is that I use the action settings to open up the quiz program and
it continually opens the same quiz after each video even though I have
directed the action setting to a different directory. It is like that
powerpoint is overiding my directory selection and defaulting to the first
executable file and thus the first quiz. My first executable is
C:\Q1\student.exe the second is C:Q2\student.exe etc. Even though it shows
correctly in the action settings when I browse it has defaulted back to the
C:\Q1\student.exe. Anybody know what is going on????

I'm assuming that the second example is a typo and also that you've got a copy
of the EXE in each of those directories?

What action setting are you using? Run Program or one of the others?

Where the browse button points isn't too important; but you're not seeing the
action setting itself changing, are you?

OK, so from the documentation for your EXE, does it default to the directory the
EXE's in or the current directory(whatever that happens to be) or something else?
And better, can you specify the directory with a command line switch or the like?
