I can't open certain e-mail attachments (the one that shows a couple of
coloured icons in a box) - wherwas I can open the ones with the coloured
circle. A friend says maybe I'm missing a program - could it be
:Powerpoint? - and if so, how do I access it? Lorraine

A PowerPoint presentation is a file with an extension of .pps.

If the attachments you can't open are .pps files, it's very likely that you
don't have PowerPoint installed, but it's not that you're *missing* it.
PowerPoint is not part of Windows, but a separate program, available for
sale either by itself or as part of Microsoft Office.

However, if you just want to view these files, and not create your own
PowerPoint presentations, you can download the free Microsoft PowerPoint
Viewer 2003 at
