Hi,
We have a user that's been having lots of problems with
her PowerPoint and different presentations. We're using
Powerpoint XP on a Windows XP system. The powerpoint
files are located on a Netware 5.1 file server.
Here's the scenario. With several presentations (not
every one) Powerpoint would crash after she has made
changes to the underlying table for a pie graph. The
error message says, "Microsoft Office XP component has
encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience." After hitting ok to this message,
Powerpoint closes or locks up.
Here's some of the troubleshooting that's been done. I've
tried this with the same presentations but located on her
local hard drive and the problem still occurs. I've tried
it on other PCs and it occurs too though to a less
frequent extent. I've deleted all temp files, done a
repair of Office XP, and even uninstalled and reinstalled
Office XP. Yet the presentations still cause Powerpoint
to crash. One other note, in the application error log
I've noticed that it says the faulting application is
graph.exe with event ID of 1000.
Does anyone know how to resolve this? Thanks in advance
for any help.
Regards,
Jeff
