HELP! Whenever I click on PowerPoint it will not run. All of my other
programs in office worked.. i turned off all my antivirus stuff and deleted
my temp folders and everything... what can i do?

Also, just in case your file type association got messed around with as well,
if Jean-Pierre's suggestion doesn't work, try:

Start > Run > POWERPNT.EXE

If this doesn't work, you may need to start looking for your installation
discs...

Cheers

Which version of PPT are you using? Why did you download the PPT 2007 trial?

How are you trying to open PPT? Are you using Start and clicking the
shortcut, or are you double-clicking a PPT file or what?

Assuming you're using PPT 2007, here are a couple of things to try:

One is, look for any PowerPoint or Office add-ins you might have installed
and disable them. Adobe Acrobat is one that often causes conflicts.

The other is a printer driver. Do this:

You can also run a repair from Windows Control Panel / Add-Remove Programs.

k nothing has worked my powerpoint still won't open. I dont know how or where
to check for add ons?
Since the last time I have used powerpoint I have downloaded skype, safari,
a office compatibility file and have installed an external hard drive Could
any of those be the source of my problem?

It's always helpful to mention which version of PPT you're using.

What is this: "downloaded this unblock powerpoint file" ?

If you downloaded and installed Office 2007, it may have wiped out your
Office 2003 installation. Hard to say. Did you just install the trial, or
did you opt for a custom install and tell it not to remove your 2003
applications?

Have you tried running the repair from Windows Control Panel?
