I have a PowerPoint presentation due in my online college course. When I
posted it to my individual forum as an attachment my instructor said there
wasn't anything there. I looked and it was blank. When I sent the same
presentation to my other email address, it opened. I tried your advice and
saved it as 97-2003 doc. then tried posting it again...same thing it was
blank...I then sent it to my uncle and he does not have PP but I saved it as
a slide show and saved one as the 97-2003 and they both opened for him....why
won't it open when I post it to my instructor?I need to post this assignment
in a couple of days, what do I do? I have the trial version does that matter?
Thanks

I wonder if your professor doesn't need to download the latest PPT Updates
(Help > Check for Updates).

I'd contact the instructor right off and ask if you can email the file until the
technical problems have been worked out with posting to the online course.

One thing you might try is saving the file as 97-2003 then zipping it and
posting the zip file.

I will check with him...thank you

I tried zipping the one I already have saved to 97-2003 and posted it and
when I clicked open it said it is invalid or corrupt. I guess I will have to
ask him to email it like you said. So do you think there is a technical
problem with the site itself maybe? Thanks

That or the method used to post to it. How do you put files up there?
Do you have some kind of binary vs text mode option when you send files? If so,
you'd definitely want *binary*

We just sign into our class and there are three forums, main, chat and
individual...they are all the same...but at the top it says reply or post new
message..then after we create our message it is like an email it says attach
files...it brings you to a browse button , you pick what you want to attach
and that is it. So maybe I better call tech support and see what the problem
is?

I did not get any error messages but I am not emailing it to my instructor, I
am just posting it in our classroom. It is something similar to this except
we can attach our files for our assignments. I did figure something out
though, I saved it a couple different ways and it still did not work...but
when I was checking to see if it worked, I was clicking the view button....I
emailed my instructor and told him that when I clicked the download tab it
opened...so I am waiting to see whether he says it worked or not. I hope that
is it :) I really appreciate everyone's help so far. Thank you!

OK, thanks for the good description of the process. I think it'd be a good idea to get
tech support involved.

Maybe email them a zipped copy of your file and have THEM try uploading it via the same
method, see if it gets corrupted for them too.
