What PowerPoint2002 features work with PowerPoint viewer
amd which do not? Which PP2002 features are not accepted
by PowerPoint viewer?

There's a list of the new stuff in PowerPoint 2002 at
http://www.echosvoice.com/ under Gotcha's, I think. That will tell you a
lot.

Remember, a new Viewer will be release later this year and the problems will
go away. Also, if you open PowerPoint 2002 and go to Tools > Options > Edit
and disable the three items at the bottom, you won't have to worry about the
differences because you won't be allowed to use the new features. It's a
handy setting when designing a presentation that will need to be distributed
with the Viewer. However, turn the features off before you build the
presentation.

Phil,

You can see the new viewer for yourself at PowerPoint Live in October.
You're welcome to attend, and particularly to ask about "gremlins put into
it" <g>. If you're in the audience, it can be the first question asked
<vbg>.

I'd be *very* startled if there wasn't at least one PC in the help center
outfitted with it.

Wow - a free invite! WayHay! No, wait, that isn't what you mean, is it?

Seriously, I'd love to come, if I could just get the funds together to
get there - it's been a bit of a quiet year over here, you see. If I
can't stow away in Adam's luggage I may have to mug him & steal all his
clothes...

....and shave off the beard...

....and lose a lot of weight...

...nah.

HEY! I could be a guest speaker! "PowerPoint Under Fire" or somesuch
<eg>

The new viewer is in the Office 2003 Beta. I've played with it a
little bit... claims to support all animations and have a CD autoload
generator... which I haven't tried. The catch is the viewing system
has to be Windows Second Edition or newer. The problem there is if
you ask users if they have W/98, they usually know the answer. If you
ask if it is Second Edition, they look at you like you are from Mars.
