Powerpoint viewer and temporary files

Hi

Is there any way of preventing Powerpoint viewer 97 from creating temporary
files?

(I can set the temporary directory to a non existent drive, but the viewer
doesn't like that and renders some of the images as red 'X'.)

Failing that, is there any way I can make Powerpoint viewer 97 limit the
size or number of its temporary files?

Thanks

No, not that I've ever heard of.

Is there some reason that its temp files are a problem?

Thanks for breaking the bad news :-)

The usual CF/EWF issues, which seem to give me three options:

1/ Write temporary files to ramdisk and risk running out of ramdisk space
2/ Write to an EWF protected directory and risk running out of RAM
3/ Write to an unprotected directory and wear out the CF cards.

EWF? A new one on me, I'm afraid.

Let's back up a bit, though. Clearly the environment is not a standard PC.
Can you explain a bit more?
