Hi All

I have made myself a nice interactive presentation in 2007 with lots of
cross links to other pptx files and I decided to test it with viewer 2007. So
I installed viewer but every time I tried to open a linked pptx it popped up
the annoying security box (the thing about potential viruses). So anyway I
gave up with view and uninstalled viewer, now though the problem has somehow
worked it's way back to powerpoint itself, and not only that when I do click
ok (on the security box) it opens up the file in edit mode not slide show.
The funny thing is that it only does this for pptx's, if I link to a ppt it
seems ok.

It was all working before viewer came along and ruined it, any ideas what it
may have done to my copy of 2007? This is highly annoying so any suggestions
would be great!

Cheers

Hello,

The best thing to do would be to repair your installation. Go to the
Microsoft office button, PowerPoint options, the resources tab and click the
diagnose button under the section run Microsoft Office diagnostics. Then
please tell us how you get on.

Fantastic! It said there was one problem found, fixed it and now everything
works again. Normally I wouldn't trust microsoft diagnostic tools as far as I
could throw them but in this case it has done its job!

Cheers
