Hi a number of questions relating to the same thing:

I compose quite a lot of presentations on one computer using Office
2007/Vista (grrrr!!) and save them in 97/2003 format.

1 The presentations never look the same on the screen on the second
computer. Can I do something so that I do not have to almost rebuild the
presentation after transfer?

2 If I write in a placeholder in Ppt2007, I can print it out in outline view
on the first computer. If I transfer and try to print out on the one running
Ppt2003/WinXP, it won't show the contents of the placeholder.

3 If the presentations include large sound files (as they often do) and I
transfer the files on the same CD, the second computer doesn't recognise the
files. I have to reset all the properties of each object so that they "see"
the file.

Hoping you understand my problems and looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Simon,

1. Yes, that is the way of it. You are far better off creating the
presentation in the version it will be used in. It is supposed to be
identical, but many things can get in the way of that.

2. Placeholders are handled very differently in 2007. As a result, they are
not completely compatible with previous versions.

3. Move the sound file into the same folder as the PPT(x) file before
linking to it. Then burn the folder to CD. The sounds should stay linked
that way.
