PowerPoint text to web

My guess is that you are using PowerPoint 2002 or 2003. There is a known
issue. Most of us have noted a definite degradation of animated text, (see
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00510.htm).

The possible explanations for this are, as you suggested, multiple
anti-aliased renderings, as well as, anti-aliased rendering that has been
expanded, or even under-sampling after anti-aliasing. There has, as far as
I know, been no official word from MS on how to correct this or if it will
be addressed in a service pack or the next PowerPoint release..

The reason may be that PowerPoint treats animated text as object, not true
type fonts.
To enlarge the animated text may improve it's looks.

Martin,
As Glen said, it is a known problem which I have been gathering data on for
quite a while. There are some things that you can do to make the situation
better, but none (as of yet) to completely eliminate the problem.

Things we know:
Dark backgrounds are usually worse than light. Chunky fonts are worse than
thin fonts. Sometimes updating video drivers helps, sometimes it doesn't.
Turning ClearType on makes it worse. Gradient backgrounds make it worse.
Some animations are worse than others: movement ones are the worst, appear
and color change are less likely to have problems. The higher resolution
monitors don't show it as often in some cases.

If you want to know what things look like on other machines, along with what
we know so far, you can check out the articles on my site at:
http://www.powerpointanswers.com/article1043.php
(Oh, one more note: I do now see this with my flat screen monitor. I still
rarely if ever see it on other monitors.)

Since you are experiencing this in an HTML environment, I would love to have
a link to look at and share with MS. It might help track things down more.

If you email me, I can share some specific questions for you to answer that
will help us track down the problems.
