PowerPoint Stops Responding

PowerPoint 2002 SP 2
OS: XP Pro

PowerPoint locks up in different functions. File can be
on Network or local drive. I am adware that SP3 is out,
however, that is still be testing with image and other
softwares. Any one have any suggestions?
