hi people:

I'm running office xp pro on my hp laptop (running windows XP). At one
time, the powerpoint application allowed mp3 files to be imported into
my ppt programs, but suddenly it won't play/accept any audio files
other than .wav or .au.

(Moreover, Word XP won't actively underline spelling/grammar errors
even though the settings say that it should. No manual changes to the
settings or registry were made between the time when these programs
worked and didn't work properly.)

I also tried uninstalling the complete office xp pro and reinstalling
it only to find the same malfunctions are occuring. Please provide help
with what I should do in this situation.

PS: I do have spybot running though I'm not sure if that matters or
not.

Thanks,
Lil{P}"

Probably the link path is too long.
Create a folder in C:\ Drive. Now, move both the music and ppt into the
folder.
Delete the music, and re-insert it.
See if it works this time round.

Have you by chance installed something like RealPlayer on your Laptop?
