PowerPoint Slide Show in Version 2002

I created a presentation using PowerPoint 2002 that had jpeg files on each page and I used the transitions in
2002 to move/reveal the pictures on each page. When I created a slide show file and brought it to another
computer that used PowerPoint 2000, most of the fancier transitions did not work

Did that happen because the other computer also needs version 2002? I thought you could run a PowerPoint
show on any computer even if PowerPoint is not installed. If I install 2002 on the other computer, will the
transitions work properly?

You can run it on any versions, but the newer animations will not work in
2000 or below because PowerPoint doesn't know what they are in those
versions. You can always disable all new animations by clicking "Tools",
"Options", "Edit" TAB, and checking the option. Only other option is to get
everyone to upgrade to 2002 or 2003 to use all the enhanced animations and
other features!

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

You can view (not edit) PowerPoint presentations (slide show only) in
Windows by installing the PowerPoint Viewer. There are two versions:

PowerPoint Viewer 97 (use for viewing PowerPoint 97 and 2000
presentations), and PowerPoint Viewer 2003 (use for viewing PowerPoint 2002
and 2003 presentations).

Both viewers can be found on the Office Online web site by following the
links for updates or downloads:

http://office.microsoft.com

If it is important to you (or anyone else reading this message) that
additional options be provided for viewing presentations (when you do not
have PowerPoint), don't forget to send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS,
please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
