my powerpoint slide show freeze during slide transition. I have reinstall my
microsoft office but the problem still persist. help.

Which slide transition effects are you using? Some of them are harder on
video drivers than others -- for example, Fade Through Black, while much
much nicer than the clunky Dissolve, has been known to cause lockups and
crashes.

You might try updating your video driver and turning hardware acceleration
down. How to set graphics hardware acceleration back
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00129.htm

When you say your hardware acceleration is not on, I think you must mean in
PowerPoint's Slide Show menu | Set up Show dialog.

If you didn't already, you might try turning that on and then adjusting
Hardware Acceleration in the display settings as described in the FAQ (link
below).

Also, while you're in those display settings, make sure you're set to 32-bit
color (or 24-bit if 32 isn't available) -- and you might see if changing to
a different resolution helps. And did you update your video card driver?

If this just started happening, that makes me think it might be something
running in the background. Try disabling your antivirus program as a test.
(Which program are you using, by the way?) Also try PPT Tools | Options |
Save and turn off the "save autorecovery information every XX minutes." I
don't think that should kick in when you're running a presentaton, but you
never know.

Do you have anything else running in the background? Groove? Distributed
computing applications (like SETI)? Skype? MSN Messenger? Like autorecovery,
I'd think these would be turned off during a show, but I've also seen things
like Outlook "you've got mail from this person" things pop up during
presentations, so I know there's some stuff that still runs. :-)

Oh. Also. Start | Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Information
| Components | Problem Devices. Anything listed there?

Hi Echo S,

Thanks for your feedback. For your information, I am using slide tansition
like cover down, cover left, wedge, box in and box out. And when during
transition, it will hang half way through the transition or after
transition,
it will not be able toadvance to the next slide. By the way my hardware
acceleration is not on. I tried to turn down but the problem still
persist.
WOndering what is wrong for I have been using powerpoint slideshows for
more
than a year using the same notebook but there is no such problem. Only
recently this problem occur.
