Hello,

I was after some assistance regarding Powerpoint 2000
settings. It is running on XP and we wish to set
the "popup on right mouse click" option "off"
indefinitely. That is - by default, the PC will be set to
go to previous slide upon a right mouse click.

Can anybody help, is it a setting in the registry????

The reason is that we are an educational institution and
PC's run many slide shows per day and at present we get
numerous calls to adjust thius setting for separate
individual files.

Thanks,
James.

I'm not sure what you want here, James.

You want to turn off popup menu on right mouseclick, but what do you
want to happen when you do this?

You're correct in that when the popup menu is turned off, the right
mouseclick becomes a previous slide button.

If you're trying to disable the mouse for the presentation shows, you
can use Kiosk mode (Slide Show/Setup Show). But your presentation
creators would need to give the users some navigation settings in the
form of action settings then. Or make the slides advance automatically.

This is simple to do.

Go to Tools > Options, and on the Slideshow panel,
deselect:
pop up on right mouse click
show pop up menu

You will no longer get the pop ups when you right click

Hello,

Yes, I do want the mouse click to just go directly back a
slide "everytime" no matter what file and who logs into
the machine. I'm thinking Registry but I'm not too sure??
If it is Registry value I can use logon script to change
at login.

Thanks,
James.

The reg. values you're looking for are:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\PowerPoint\Options
SSMenuButton
SSRightMouse
