PowerPoint PowerPoint question.

Hi all.

I`ve been trying to down load some pictures,via "AOL" but of late I`m
getting a message thus:

Windows cannot open this file:

File CERDFotos .pps
To open this file,Windows need to know what program created it.Windows can go on line to look it up automaticaly,or you can manually select from a list of programs on your computer.

What do you want to do?

Use the web service to find the appropriat program
Select the program from a list

OK Cancel


I then click OK and then a "Windows File Association" window comes up with:

File type: PowerPoint Document file
File extention:.pps
Description: This document is a PowerPoint presentation
Software on info available at:
Microsof PowerPoint.

My question is, what is PowerPoint?
Tha above message has only started to appear in the last 2-3 weeks,what does it all mean, and can anyone help with an explanation please?

PowerPoint is part of Microsoft Office package..Usually used to make presentations and the like..
Question though..The pictures you are trying to open, are they been sent to you or are they pictures you have already..?
