Charles

I have Office 2003 Professional Edition. I am attempting
to print a Powerpoint presentation and each time I hit
the print button I am taken to a screen that asks me to
save as, and the option is to save as a Microsoft
Document Imaging Format. I've already saved the document
now I want to print, but no luck. Anyone have any ideas
on what is causing this?

Click the "Start" button, select "Settings", "Printers". See which printer
has the little checkmark next to it. That is the default printer. Sounds
like something else is set as the default instead of your normal printer.
Right-click your printer and click "Set as default".

Yup. Your default printer's set to Microsoft Office Document Image Writer or
something very much like it. When you click the Print button, PowerPoint
prints to the Windows default printer using whatever your default printing
settings might be.

You can do two things:

Click Start, Settings, Printers, then rightclick the printer you prefer to use
for all Windows printing. Click Set as Default Printer on the popup menu.

If you don't have any other printers installed, you'll have to install one
before you can do this, of course.

OR

Don't click the print button. Instead, choose File, Print. In the Print dialog
box, you can change the printer for this particular printing session but still
leave the default set to a different printer.

By printing from the print dialog, you also get access to a lot of other useful
print settings and options.
