Powerpoint Printing and rebooting

Having a weird problem occasionally with Powerpoint.

It seems that ocasionally when I have a user trying to
print from powerpoint (most often to a Lexmark printer,
various models) thier computer will reboot. No blue screen,
just goes click and reboots. Once the machine is back up
and they log in again, they can then print the presentation
fine.

I've tried new drivers, different machines, basically
everything I can come up with to atleast figure out where
the problem is starting. Its multiple users on multiple
machines on seperate printers.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what to try?? Its not a
set time when it happens, it just seems to be random people
at random times.

Try reducing video acceleration (weird as that may sound), and also check
for updated video drivers.

Well, I was thinking it might be some sort of hardware
conflict, but you would then assume that it would happen
every time they print. It seems to happen at spontanious
times, and after a reboot works fine.

I'll take a look at the drivers for components and see if
they need to be updated.

Thanks for the tips.

has the threads here on "spontaneous reboot." When we've seen this
before, it's usually been tracked to the need for a BIOS update, bad RAM
(?), TurboTax bug, oddball things like that. Oh, and video systems have
also cropped up in the discussions.

Might give you some ideas.

It might depend on what bugs in the video system the particular presentation
tickles, where various bits are loaded in memory (ie, does it touch a bad
bit or not?), what else has been loaded before, what other apps have
previously printed ... a welter of things.
