Why did you change PowerPoint 2007 to remove the ability to just close a
presentation, but keep PowerPoint open? It is extremely annoying and time
consuming to have to shut PP down completely and restart it when searching to
see if I've got the correct presentation open. Also, just Office in general,
losing the quick link (in the Window menu) to be able to switch between open
documents/spreadsheets/presentation was a BIG mistake and makes it much
harder to work with multiple documents in Office.

You can close all open presentations without quitting out of the
application. Are you on a PC or a Mac?

BTW, this is not a Microsoft site, this is a user forum, so messages
directed here are not sent to Microsoft.

To add to Steve's suggestions, I use Ctrl+w to close the current
presentation.

You can also place a close icon on the Quick Access Toolbar to close the
current open presentation without closing PPT. (It is located in All
Commands, not in common commands.)

Lucy,

I learnt something! I use Control + F4, but the *w* is closer!
