Any help or suggestions on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
Eveytime I try to use the "Online Broadcast function" in the Slideshow menu,
it insists on using a shared server. How can I set up a PowerPoint online
broadcast from someplace other than a shared server? Like my PC, from my
own personal website, or is there a third party location where I can upload
it to as opposed to using a shared server? (what's a NetShow? is this what
I want to do?) I'm pretty naive about Webcasts and how they operate, but
I have a new client that I'm designing PowerPoint Presentations for who use
this function frequently. I'd really like to understand how they work, see
one broadcast and even try to run one on my own, etc.
Any info from experiences or references would be appreciated
Thanks

Well, John Langhans posted some good information a few days ago
regarding the server requirements for broadcasting. Check for a thread
entitled "Office 2003 Presentation Broadcasting." Also see his post from
yesterday "Presentation Broadcast."

At any rate, I think there are pretty specific requirements as to the
type of machine (server) a broadcast will run from.

You can always look into third-party webcasting options. I posted a
bunch of those some time ago. You can probably turn them up with a
Google Groups search. WebEx, Placeware (now MS LiveMeeting),
Communicast, and a bunch of others...

Thanks for the information!

I appreciate it.
